A wedding with 300 guests does not necessarily need accommodation for 300 people. You might have 200 local guests coming for the celebration and 100 relatives staying for two nights. That difference can change your venue shortlist, room requirement and budget considerably.
When comparing wedding venues in Punjab with rooms, start with three numbers: attendance at your largest function, guests staying overnight and rooms required on each night. Then compare the full cost of hosting the wedding, including meals, event spaces, décor, production, transport and planning.
This guide covers six venues across Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Patiala. It also includes a room-planning worksheet, an illustrative two-night budget and a venue comparison checklist you can use before booking.
The shortlist is based on information published by the hotels themselves. Inclusion is not a claim of a partnership, a personal inspection or availability for your dates. Venue suitability must be confirmed against your guest list and event layout.

Quick Answer: How Do You Choose a Wedding Venue with Rooms?
Choose a property that can confirm all four of the following in writing:
- Enough rooms for your agreed overnight guest list on every required night.
- Suitable function space after adding the stage, dining, décor, service areas and accessible routes.
- An indoor or otherwise workable backup for any outdoor celebration.
- A complete commercial proposal showing room nights, meal commitments, venue charges, exclusions and taxes.
The hotel’s total room inventory is only a starting point. It does not tell you how many rooms remain available, how many can be contracted for your wedding or whether unrelated events will share the property.
For example, 100 overnight guests may need 50 double-occupancy rooms. They may need more if some guests require single occupancy, separate sleeping arrangements or accessible rooms. Family composition should determine the allocation.
Six Wedding Venues in Punjab with Accommodation to Shortlist
These are options to investigate, rather than a numbered ranking. Published room inventory is shown where verified; availability and wedding capacity require a date-specific quotation.
| Venue | City | Published accommodation information | Main question before shortlisting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Radisson Blu Hotel, Amritsar | Amritsar | 186 rooms and suites | How many rooms and which wedding spaces can be reserved together? |
| Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Raja Sansi | Amritsar | 101 rooms and suites | Can your functions use the spaces you want without conflicting events? |
| Hyatt Regency Ludhiana | Ludhiana | 164 rooms and suites | Does the approved ballroom layout accommodate the entire wedding setup? |
| Nirvana Luxury Hotel | Ludhiana | Guest rooms and suites; confirm total inventory and available block | Can accommodation, indoor backup and outdoor functions be contracted together? |
| Radisson Hotel Jalandhar | Jalandhar | 62 rooms and suites | Will the confirmed room block cover your group, or is an overflow hotel needed? |
| The Baradari Palace | Patiala | Heritage accommodation; confirm available rooms and categories | Which guests can stay on site, and what does exclusive use include? |
1. Radisson Blu Hotel, Amritsar
The hotel’s official accommodation page lists 186 rooms and suites, and its website includes dedicated wedding information. This makes it a property to investigate when a substantial part of the wedding party needs hotel accommodation.
Start by comparing your requested room block with the hotel’s written availability. A large total inventory does not guarantee that the wedding can reserve all of it.
Ask for the event-space allocation, room-category split, arrival arrangements and production access in one proposal. If guests are flying in, plan pickups around their actual flight times.

2. Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Raja Sansi, Amritsar
Welcomhotel Amritsar publishes 101 rooms and suites and six banqueting and meeting venues. The property incorporates a historic haveli, making it worth considering for families who want heritage character within a hotel setting.
Request a function-by-function plan for the welcome meal, mehndi, sangeet and main celebration. Confirm which areas are private to your booking and whether any spaces have access or décor restrictions.
For a group needing close to the hotel’s total published room inventory, availability and release deadlines become especially important.

3. Hyatt Regency Ludhiana
Hyatt’s official information lists 164 rooms and suites. Its wedding page describes a Regency Ballroom of approximately 700 square metres and additional celebration spaces.
This is an option to evaluate for a hotel wedding in Ludhiana where room allocation and function management need to work together.
Ask the production team to check the proposed layout with the hotel. The stage, dance floor, dining arrangement and camera positions all affect usable space. Obtain the approved capacity for your exact setup instead of applying a generic advertised maximum.

4. Nirvana Luxury Hotel, Ludhiana
Nirvana’s official wedding page describes a 17-acre property, indoor and outdoor celebration areas, and a Grand Ballroom of approximately 18,500 square feet. It also offers guest accommodation.
The combination merits investigation for a wedding involving different function formats. However, the ballroom’s area alone cannot establish your safe working capacity.
Request a confirmed room inventory, allocation by category and a separate layout for each event. For a lawn celebration, ask whether the indoor backup is reserved for you and whether moving indoors creates extra costs.

5. Radisson Hotel Jalandhar
Radisson Jalandhar publishes 62 rooms and suites. Its events page lists different seated and standing capacities for individual spaces, which illustrates why a single maximum guest figure can be misleading.
It is worth investigating for a wedding with a defined overnight group in Jalandhar. Confirm the room block early and identify an overflow hotel if your requirements exceed the rooms offered.
Ask the hotel to show the specific event space and seating arrangement quoted. A standing reception layout may not accommodate the same number of people at dining tables with a stage installed.

6. The Baradari Palace, Patiala
Neemrana’s Baradari Palace offers heritage accommodation in Patiala and promotes wedding celebrations. It is an option to investigate when the family values the setting and wants to explore a heritage wedding format.
Confirm the available room categories directly before deciding which relatives will stay on site. Ask for written exclusive-use terms, event-space access, décor conditions and a plan for guests staying elsewhere.
Include a walkthrough of stairs, walking routes, bathrooms and vehicle access when assessing suitability for elderly guests or anyone requiring assistance.

Which Punjab City Should You Choose?
Select the city around your family’s movements and ceremony locations. A visually appealing venue can create unnecessary travel if most guests and important functions are elsewhere.
| City under consideration | When to investigate it | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Amritsar | Your family, ceremony plans or arrivals are centred on Amritsar | Airport pickups, ceremony transfers and room availability across arrival dates |
| Ludhiana | A large share of the family and local invitees are based in or around Ludhiana | Local guest travel, parking, hotel rooms and movement between functions |
| Jalandhar | The guest base or family home is in the Jalandhar area | Room block size, nearby overflow accommodation and shuttle routes |
| Patiala | Your plans centre on Patiala or you are exploring a heritage setting | Accommodation split, heritage-property restrictions and function access |
If Chandigarh or Mohali is also under consideration, use the same comparison framework. Keep each venue’s full address in the shortlist so quotes from different cities or jurisdictions are not accidentally treated as identical local options.
For an Anand Karaj or another ceremony at a separate religious venue, confirm arrangements with that institution before locking hotel timings. Build transfers and dressing time into the schedule.
How Many Hotel Rooms Do You Need for a Wedding?
Prepare an overnight guest list separately from the invitation list. Record each household, arrival date, departure date and room requirement.
Example: 300 Wedding Guests, 100 Overnight Guests
| Group | People | Illustrative allocation | Rooms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Couples and pairs happy to share | 80 | Two people per room | 40 |
| Other guests sharing by agreement | 20 | Two people per room | 10 |
| Overnight guests | 100 | Confirmed sharing plan | 50 |
| Local wedding attendees | 200 | No overnight stay | 0 |
This simplified example excludes extra crew rooms, additional single rooms and early arrivals. Add those after reviewing the actual guest list. Do not assume children or extra beds are free; obtain the hotel’s occupancy and meal policies.
Use this calculation:
Room cost = the sum of rooms booked on each night × the applicable rate for that night.
For a constant block of 50 rooms over two nights, that is 100 room nights. At an assumed ₹8,000 per room per night, the accommodation component is ₹8 lakh before applicable taxes.
If only 20 rooms are needed on the arrival night and 50 on the second night, the total becomes 70 room nights. Check whether the hotel will accept different room commitments by night.
Room-Block Questions That Prevent Surprises
- How many rooms are held, and until what date?
- What advance converts a tentative hold into a confirmed booking?
- Which room categories and occupancy levels are included?
- Is breakfast included for both occupants?
- What happens to unused rooms after the release deadline?
- How are early check-in, late departure and extra beds charged?
- Who pays for room service, minibar and other personal expenses?
- Can the hotel provide suitable accessible rooms and connecting rooms where requested?
For overseas families, our NRI wedding planning guide for Punjab and Chandigarh explains the wider coordination involved in remote planning and guest hospitality.
What Does a Residential Wedding in Punjab Cost?
There is no meaningful single price without a date, venue, room count, menu and function schedule. A per-plate rate covers only part of a residential wedding.
Build your estimate in three parts:
- Guest-related expenses: room nights, meals, transfers and gifts.
- Event expenses: space hire, décor, technical production, photography, entertainment and planning.
- Additional obligations: applicable taxes, venue-specific charges and a contingency reserve.
The example below shows how these expenses fit together. Every rate is an assumed budgeting input, not a researched hotel tariff, market average or Events Cookie package. Replace the assumptions with written quotes for your dates.
Worked Budget: 300 Guests, 50 Rooms and Two Nights
Assumptions: 100 residential guests; 150 people at the sangeet; 300 at the main wedding dinner. Both evening counts already include the residential guests. Breakfast is assumed included in the room rate. Residents receive lunch and tea on two days.
| Accommodation and food | Calculation | Illustrative amount |
|---|---|---|
| Guest rooms | 50 rooms × 2 nights × ₹8,000 | ₹8,00,000 |
| Sangeet dinner | 150 people × ₹2,500 | ₹3,75,000 |
| Main wedding dinner | 300 people × ₹3,000 | ₹9,00,000 |
| Residential lunches | 100 people × 2 lunches × ₹1,200 | ₹2,40,000 |
| Residential tea and snacks | 100 people × 2 services × ₹500 | ₹1,00,000 |
| Accommodation and food subtotal | ₹24,15,000 |
| Other budget components | Illustrative allowance |
|---|---|
| Event-space rental, if charged separately | ₹2,00,000 |
| Décor and setup labour | ₹6,00,000 |
| Sound, lighting, screens and technical crew | ₹2,00,000 |
| Photography and films | ₹2,50,000 |
| Entertainment | ₹1,25,000 |
| Wedding planning and coordination | ₹3,00,000 |
| Guest transfers | ₹1,25,000 |
| Additional crew accommodation and meals | ₹75,000 |
| Operational extras: security, power, permissions and miscellaneous provision | ₹1,00,000 |
| Other components subtotal | ₹19,75,000 |
| Combined subtotal | ₹43,90,000 |
| Contingency: 10% of combined subtotal | ₹4,39,000 |
| Illustrative planning total before applicable taxes | ₹48,29,000 |
The operating allowance is a placeholder, not a quotation for permissions or technical services. Replace it with itemised charges as the scope becomes clear. Remove any duplicated items already included by the hotel or another vendor.
This model excludes guest flights and trains, clothing, jewellery, makeup, gifting, alcohol, celebrity entertainment and separately charged ceremony arrangements. Additional events or meals also need their own lines. A contingency reserve does not substitute for calculating taxes or known exclusions.
What Changes the Total Most Quickly?
In this example:
- Increasing the room rate by ₹2,000 adds ₹2 lakh across 100 room nights.
- Adding 50 guests to a dinner priced at ₹3,000 adds ₹1.50 lakh, before any related setup changes.
- Adding one more night for all 50 rooms at ₹8,000 adds ₹4 lakh, before meals and transport.
These calculations make trade-offs visible before deposits are paid. They also show why controlling overnight stays can matter as much as negotiating the dinner menu.

Hotel, Resort or Separate Venue and Accommodation?
| Format | Potential advantage | Important trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel with function spaces | Rooms, meals and celebrations may be coordinated at one property | Space access, approved vendors and sound conditions may limit flexibility |
| Resort-style property with rooms | May offer different indoor and outdoor settings | Confirm walking distances, room availability and reserved indoor backup |
| Heritage hotel | Distinctive setting and opportunities for smaller family functions | Room mix, access and decoration restrictions need careful review |
| Wedding venue plus separate hotels | Allows event-space and accommodation choices to be made separately | Adds shuttles, pickup coordination and travel between functions |
An off-site hotel can be practical when most invitees live locally and only a smaller group needs accommodation. For a largely residential wedding, compare the transfer costs and guest effort against keeping everyone on one property.

First eliminate any venue that cannot meet an essential requirement, such as the required room block or a safe function layout. Then compare cost, guest convenience and the setting. Attractive décor cannot fix a missing room block or an unavailable backup space.
A Site Visit Should Answer These Questions
Walk the journey your guests will actually take: vehicle drop-off, check-in, room, function area, dining and departure. Ask to inspect the spaces and room categories included in your quotation.
Check where queues could form, whether elderly guests face long walks, where children can remain with their accompanying adults, and whether service vehicles cross guest routes. View the venue at a comparable time of day where possible.
Request a layout showing the stage, dining, aisles, toilets, emergency routes and production position. Ask how the property will operate if another event is taking place simultaneously.
Charges to Clarify Before Paying an Advance
Minimum Food Commitments
Record the guaranteed number for every meal, the deadline for revisions and the charge for extra guests. Confirm whether children and crew meals have separate rates. Your invitation count should not automatically become every meal guarantee.
Room Release and Cancellation
Ask when unused rooms must be released, what happens after the deadline and whether charges differ by cancellation date. Keep a payment calendar alongside the rooming list.
Vendor Access and Setup
Confirm approved or compulsory suppliers, external-vendor fees, setup hours, loading access, storage and dismantling deadlines. State who pays if a previous event delays access.
Power, Sound and Event Timings
Ask for electrical requirements, power charges, backup arrangements and approved sound timings. Have the venue and production team identify any permissions required for your particular programme and assign responsibility in writing.
Alcohol and Other Optional Services
If alcohol will be served, obtain written confirmation of applicable venue and local requirements, sourcing conditions, service arrangements and all charges. Do the same for special effects, additional security or other optional activities.
Taxes and Payment Terms
Request an itemised quotation that states whether each charge includes applicable taxes. Have the supplier explain deposits, refunds and invoicing. For a high-value booking, obtain professional advice on unclear contract or tax terms before signing.
A Practical Planning Timeline for a 2027 Punjab Wedding
The following is a suggested workflow. Availability depends on the property and dates, so begin earlier if the wedding requires a large room block or an exclusive-use arrangement.
| When | Main decisions |
|---|---|
| Around 9–12 months before | Set an overall budget, estimate local and residential guests, shortlist cities and request venue proposals |
| Around 6–9 months before | Inspect properties, agree room and event-space commitments, appoint key vendors and document payment deadlines |
| Around 3–6 months before | Develop layouts, menus and function schedules; collect arrival information and organise transfers |
| Around 1–3 months before | Update RSVPs, review room-release deadlines, confirm production and prepare detailed guest communication |
| Final weeks | Confirm meal guarantees by contractual deadlines, room allocations, vendor schedules, rehearsals and emergency contacts |
| Wedding days | Run one shared schedule for hospitality, venue, catering, transport and production teams |
For remote planning, approve layouts, quotes and changes in one shared record. A phone conversation should be followed by a written confirmation when it changes the scope or cost.
Seven Mistakes to Avoid When Booking a Punjab Wedding Venue
- Booking from photographs alone. Check the actual function space, rooms, access and service areas.
- Treating published rooms as available rooms. Contract the block for each night.
- Comparing only per-plate prices. Include accommodation, space hire, vendor charges and transport.
- Assuming all areas are exclusive. Identify shared entrances, lawns, dining areas and parking.
- Leaving the outdoor backup unreserved. A ballroom that exists may be booked for another event.
- Using one guest count for every meal. Build separate function and residential meal counts.
- Paying before responsibilities are clear. Record who controls approvals, contracts, payments, changes and event-day decisions.
How Events Cookie Can Help Plan Your Punjab Wedding
Events Cookie can coordinate venue research, budgeting, wedding design, vendors, entertainment, accommodation, transport and on-ground management across Punjab and other Indian destinations.
The planning scope can connect the decisions that are often made separately: whether the guest list fits the hotel, whether the décor fits the room, whether setup access supports the schedule and whether the complete proposal fits the family’s budget.
Depending on the agreed services, support can include:
- Venue shortlisting, quotation comparison and site-visit coordination.
- Rooming lists, RSVP management and guest hospitality.
- Décor, stage, sound, lighting and production planning.
- Catering coordination and function-wise meal planning.
- Photography, entertainment and artist coordination.
- Airport or station transfers and local guest transport.
- Vendor schedules, rehearsals and wedding-day coordination.
Venue bookings, supplier availability and commercial terms remain subject to confirmation. The proposal should specify which services are included and which suppliers or responsibilities remain with the family.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which wedding venues in Punjab have rooms?
Options to investigate include Radisson Blu Amritsar, Welcomhotel Amritsar, Hyatt Regency Ludhiana, Nirvana Luxury Hotel Ludhiana, Radisson Jalandhar and The Baradari Palace in Patiala. Confirm both accommodation availability and the suitability of wedding spaces for your dates.
How many rooms are needed for a 300-guest wedding?
It depends on how many guests stay overnight. If 100 guests stay and agree to double occupancy, the starting requirement is 50 rooms. Add rooms for single occupancy, early arrivals, crew and other needs after preparing the rooming list.
How much does a two-night wedding in Punjab cost?
The worked example in this guide totals ₹48.29 lakh before applicable taxes for 300 wedding guests and 100 residential guests in 50 rooms. This is a calculation using assumed rates, not a market average or a venue package. Obtain quotes for your exact dates and scope.
Are wedding hotel rooms included in the per-plate price?
Do not assume they are. Request separate room, meal and function-space amounts, or a package breakdown identifying every inclusion. Also confirm breakfast, additional occupancy and any meal minimums.
Can we book a complete hotel for our wedding?
Ask the property whether an exclusive-use arrangement is offered for your dates. The contract should define rooms, restaurants, function areas, existing bookings, access restrictions and charges. Reserving all available rooms does not automatically mean every hotel area is private.
Can we use an outside decorator, caterer or artist?
Policies differ by venue. Obtain written approval and charges before appointing outside vendors. Confirm production access and the artist’s technical requirements as part of the same review.
Is one venue better than using a separate hotel and banquet?
One property can simplify guest movement when many people stay overnight. Separate accommodation may suit a mostly local wedding or provide more venue choice. Compare total cost, travel and coordination requirements for your guest mix.
Can Events Cookie help an NRI family book and manage a Punjab wedding?
Yes. Remote planning, venue coordination, guest accommodation, transfers, hospitality, vendors and event execution can be included in the agreed scope. Share your country of residence and preferred meeting times along with the wedding brief.
Research and Budget Notes
Hotel facts were checked against the official property pages linked above on 26 September 2026. This is a planning shortlist, not an exhaustive ranking or a record of inspected properties. Published room inventory and event spaces can change; availability, pricing and layout approval must be confirmed directly for the selected dates.
The 2027 cost example uses transparent assumptions to demonstrate budgeting. It is not a quote from any listed hotel or a confirmed Events Cookie package. Permissions, taxes and contract obligations depend on the location and event scope; obtain case-specific confirmation where needed.
